Founder + Managing DirectorAfter graduating from Miami Ad School in 2009, Aman felt Toronto needed a school just like it! Since 2014, he’s on a mission to bridge the gap between advertising and education launching our Toronto location in 2016. Before pursuing his passion for entrepreneurship, he held positions at Taxi, CP+B and R/GA, working on brands like Vitaminwater, Mercedes-Benz and Nike as an Art Director.
Creative Chairman + InstructorStephen graduated from OCAD in 1988, and over the next 10 years established himself as one of Canada’s top art directors. He was named Creative Director of Ammirati & Puris (with creative partner Angus Tucker) before leaving to start john st. Stephen has championed john st.’s emergence as a digital leader in social, interactive and mobile. He has chaired the Marketing Awards, the Bessies, Strategy magazine’s Shift Disturbers conference, and served on the jury at Cannes 2009. Stephen loves, in no particular order, his son, his dog, Batman comic books, and his wife Eva.
Co-Founder + Admissions
The Co-Founder of our Toronto chapter, Muneet is our compliance specialist who keeps us all running. If you’re a student you’ll most likely connect with her first because she knows everything there is to know about Miami Ad School, really, ask her anything. She’s also the guinea pig for all experiments in-house because of a ‘lets get this sh*t done’ attitude. A graduate of the Business Management program at Ryerson University but the stellar memory comes from a past life doing a Bachelor of Science for Biology.
Marketing ManagerJoseph is fresh out of the academic life, having just completed the Business Management program from Ryerson University. He is a self proclaimed comic book geek, manga and anime otaku, and a tv show junkie who is always ready to talk your brains out on any topic. He joins the MAS team as an Administrative Coordinator, breaking new grounds with his skills in “copy and pasting.” He is an honest man with a big beard who tries his best to follow the motto of the Tao Te Ching: Embrace Simplicity. Put others first. Desire little.
Strategy Program ChairAs the former Chief Strategy Officer at Cossette, Jason has nearly 20 years of experience in strategic planning. He’s led the strategy on several award winning campaigns, including: SickKids VS, Honey Nut Cheerios Bring Back the Bees, and McDonald’s Our Food Your Questions. He is known for pushing the limits of advertising and championing the strategy and planning role in Canada, which has led him to 10 Cannes Lions and several international awards, including One Show, Clios and Effies. Today, he is the Chief Creative Officer of Canada’s hottest fintech start-up, KOHO..
Digital Creative Lead
Chad is a Creative Director at SapientRazorfish, working to digitally transform clients’ business, and is also the President of the Advertising and Design Club of Canada. Chad’s passion is creating emotional connections with consumers, as well as finding ways to help this amazing community we all work in.
Social Media Program Director
As the Director of Social Media at Anomaly, Jennifer manages a team of 6 Social Media specialists and overseas 15+ brand’s social media activity. With an MA in International Marketing Communications and MSc in International Marketing Strategy, she has achieved 10 years experience across CPG, alcohol, automotive, retail and non-profit categories. Previous clients include Ford, Shoppers Drug Mart, Bacardi, Grey Goose, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Kraft, and Mercedes-Benz. She has lived and studied in England, France, USA. In her spare time she serves as a National Advertising Benevolent Society Ambassador and Director of Nominating for the Junior League of Toronto.
Lead StrategistUmar is an award-winning strategist who helps businesses grow in complex and connected environments. He has worked with some of the best brands in the world including Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Nestle and Westjet. He is passionate about education and learning. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and an MBA in Marketing. He enjoys tea and writing in third person.
Strategy Program Director
Chelsea’s passion for human behaviour, creative thinking and technology led her to a career in communications strategy. Her experience spans across several industries, developing data-centric solutions in partnership with brands like Danone, Dairy Farmers of Canada, RBC and Expedia. Chelsea is currently a Sr. Strategist at Mirum and the Strategy Boot Camp Program Director at Miami Ad School. She previously held positions at creative shop Grip Limited and digital agency Henderson Bas Kohn. Beyond “work”, she spends her time reading, puzzling, working out, volunteering, laughing (a lot) and drinking wine (a little).
UX Program Manager
Rachel is the UX Program Manager by night, and an Associate Project Manager at SapientRazorfish by day. She works exclusively with analytics and UX teams to deliver data driven design solutions for clients in the eCommerce space. In her role as Program Manager, Rachel is responsible for connecting students to instructors and course management, as well as bringing in a beer or two for late night working sessions. She loves to travel, read, write and hike.
